April 99 Cover Art: Martin Murphy Title: Desktop Heroes and Villans Back to Archives
			The beautiful work of Toronto digital artist Martin Murphy exhibits a masterful combination of rich color and classic composition. For this rendering, created specially for this issue, Martin worked in Bryce to composite and render elements he had created in Poser and Ray Dream Studio; Painter was used extensively for fine detailing. We chose to add extra depth, detail and color gamut to Martin's masterpiece, first, by using Hexachrome separations, second, by adding both a metallic gold and a graduated varnish, and third by applying stochastic screening (for a full description of the cover's creation and print production, see page 17).
