			To Toronto designer/teacher Lidka Schuch of Studio L, good art and design requires as much emotion and talent as knowledge, skill and logic. She views her computer simply as a muscle that can never replace her brain. Lidka says that she views teaching as a calling, an interactive opportunity, as opposed to a passive exercise. For the cover of this issue, Lidka combined rough sketches colored in Fractal Painter, filtered Illustrator drawings, painted Photoshop effects, and scanned butterfly photos to produce this dreamy scene.
